Like every person (I am not talking about Lunatics or Psychos) you and me also try to avoid arguments as much as possible. But we fail to do it most of the time. And these arguments plays a very vital role in creating distance between two person in any relationship.
Just this afternoon I was having a one-to-one phone call with one of my student, when I was telling him the importance of Dreaming Big, my mom was eavesdropping behind the doors. And she started shouting "Stop misleading people, you will go to hell with their curse" (My Mom is far away from the concept of Personal Growth, and compromising is the best way to live according to her). Now my immediate reaction was to give my mom a solid reply and take a short five minute followup session of her, where she would argue with me for the first four minutes and will agree to me at the last minute. And to add my irritation she would say "When you teach other how to lead a good life, why you become irritated so easily?" or the argument might take up the rest of the day destroying my peace of mind and also the quality of dinner made by mom.
So I kept silent!
And everything is fantastic. Mom has gone to nap, when she will woke up, she will completely forget the topic. And I am writing this blog post in peace. And there will be no bad effect on the Dinner too! Lol!
So my suggestion is to be an argument-stopper not an argument-starter.
