How Many Superheroes You Have Inside Yourself?

Share

I am a big fan of Ben 10 , a show on Cartoon Network (Yes, I love watching CN still, & I don't want to grow up, any problem?) where a kid can transform into 10 alien superheroes with the help of his watch (read Omnitrix), and fight against evil powers. While watching the show I was wondering, don't we all have some kind of super powers within ourselves?

Well, I know your first reaction - "NO! You irrational impractical freak (watching CN at the age of 22, and writing on Self Improvement. Huh! )We all don't have superpowers within ourselves. We can't fly like Superman, neither can we crawl wall like Spiderman, we don't have that freaky powers of batman, neither we have technologically advanced suit of Ironman. And in case you haven't noticed none of us wear underwear over our exceptionally skin tight pants. We are just us. A simple helpless human being. Oh! By the way, we haven't got that watch Omnitrix like your kiddo hero Ben, so we can't transform ourselves into those alien superheroes, so we don't have any power to save or transform the world. Stop writing these crazy post or ..."

Shut up yaar, don't you forget this is my blog and listen to me carefully You have Superpowers within yourself, like everybody in this universe. Either you haven't yet discovered it or you are afraid to admit it.

Now you will say "If I have superpowers, why won't I admit it?" Because my friend With great power comes great responsibility. (as said by Spider man) And most of us run from the responsibility we would have if we admit the superpowers buried deep within ourselves.

Who told you that superhero means those imaginary characters wearing weird costumes, using laser guns, or magical sword, crawling walls or flying? Let me introduce you to some superheroes we encounter every day in our lives.

Super Parent Parents who work hard day and night to give their kids a good life and good education. Who stay hungry themselves but take their kids to McDonalds to give them smile. Aren't they superheroes? May be you have one in your home.

Super Son/daughter A son/daughter, who in spite of his/her busy schedule never forget to spend time with their old parents. My Mom and Dad are pretty good example. (pic: My mom with her parents, my mom is a housewife. After taking care of me,dad, and dad's parents, how can she still manage to take care of her parents, is always a mystery to me)
Super Spouse/Lover Aren't those spouse/lover superheroes who love their partner unconditionally? Who never give up their relationship in the face of adversity? "Break  Up" isn't a word in their dictionary. Here is an example.

Super Friends Some friends means a life to us. Who stand by us no matter how difficult the circumstances may be. They  don't have a blood relation with us, but still they are connecting with us through soul. Aren't they superhero?

How many more examples should I give you? Harry Potter may be an imaginary wizard hero, but the real super hero is J. K. Rowling whose creation made us to have faith in our dreams again, whose writing encourages  us to never give up. Same in case of Personal Growth authors like Robin Sharma, Paulo Coleho, Deepak Chopra and many more who are inspiring millions to live their best life. Aren't they superheroes? The actors who are entertaining us, the singers whose songs healing our pain, the Entrepreneurs who is giving employment and encouragement to many. Aren't they superheroes? Aren't they transforming the world? The social activists who are fighting to stop global warming, woman abuse, child labour, aren't they saving the world? They are also super heroes. Those defence people for who we are sleeping at peace at night with our family, who are sacrificing their lives for us, aren't they superhero? They  are Real Super Heroes of Life.

So, is it that tough to be a superhero? Is it that tough to make a difference? Not at all. You can do anything you like, just do it at its best and touch some lives. If you can show up as the best person you can be, then you are a superhero.

Just imagine a world, where everyone of us are living upto our best potential, and making difference, how wonderful this world would be. That would be a Super World I think. If you think, I dream and imagine too much. Yes! And I believe in my dreams, I will do anything and everything in my life to make this dream  a reality. Question is are you with me?

By the way just been thinking, what are my superpowers, (I'm sharing these not to  beat my own drums, but to show you how you can find yours too)

1. My Words: Whether I talk or I write I can inspire people, I can make people feel good about themselves and that's why I kicked my Engineering last year, to pursue my passion as my profession.

2. My Dreams: I dream a lot, I dream big, crazily big, and most importantly I believe in dreams, and it helps me to create wonderful things to make a difference.

3. My Patience: When I start something, I stick to it till the end. I failed more than any average person of my age but I never gave up.

4. My Values: I am really a man of values. I have never cheated in my exam papers, neither I have any kind of addiction, and I started riding bike few days back only after buying myself. I never ridden dad's bike fuelling it with dad's hard earned money.

5. My Networking Power: Be it social networks, be it real life, I can connect to people very fast. I listen to people with genuine interest, I care for them, and they become part of my life.

There are many more...but the fact is I admitted these powers and took the responsibility that came with it. I could have denied all these powers and could go with a safe Electronics Engineer job as my parents wanted, but I didn't. I chosen to be an Entrepreneur, faced a hell lot of challenges, failures, and heartbreaks, but here I am still firm on my crusade, trying to make you believe in your superpowers, trying to encourage you to avoid the trap of mediocrity and live the best life you can.

So what are your superpowers? Share with us. How can you make a difference?
